Juniper Glen's programming aligns with the Quebec Education Program requirements, Oak Meadow and LifeWays programs of study. We are a LifeWays-aligned program.

Why Juniper Glen?

Vision & Mission
We aim to gently guide the whole child to become an imaginative, inquisitive, compassionate and skillful citizen with a profound respect for the arts and nature.

Letting Children R.O.A.M.!
Juniper Glen Kinderhaus and Nature School offers a local alternative to traditional Kindergarten and schooling. We want children to have the opportunity to ROAM!

R.O.A.M. stands for Reader, Observer, Artist and Musician and we believe that given the opportunity to explore all these areas, children can become joyful, life-long learners.

Pyramid Learning
Juniper Glen's pedagogical approach resembles a pyramid structure building a solid foundation so that your child will carry a love of learning well beyond graduation day.

By teaching your whole child, we focus not only on your little one's unique, creative mind but also on their skillful contributions to community and compassionate treatment of the world.

Seasonal Structure

Our students welcome the arrival and transitions of Fall, Winter and Spring and wrap up their studies with a celebration of the Summer Solstice!

Lessons are guided by the seasons since our ingredients for cooking and baking rely on the local harvest, our songs and stories follow the cycles of flora and fauna and our nature journals and art portfolios reflect our observations of the seasonal changes we observe in our neighbourhoods and homes.

Students work joyfully to prepare for seasonal festivals by making lamps for the Autumn Lantern Walk, setting out shoes for Saint Nicholas Day and dancing around the May Pole!

Waldorf & Forest Schools

Juniper Glen is inspired by a combination of different pedagogy including Lifeways learning, Waldorf and Forest Schooling.
