Kinderhaus & Nature School
Vision & Mission
"We aim to gently guide the whole child to become an imaginative, inquisitive, compassionate and skillful citizen with a profound respect for the arts and nature."
Located on a large, treed property in the heart of Aylmer's Glenwood sector, Juniper Glen offers a half-day program for Kindergarten children aged 4 to 6 years and a full day program for children 7 to 10 years of age.
We focus on a Waldorf-inspired, whole-child philosophy educating head, heart and hands. Each day includes focused study, lots of free play and time in nature.

What is a Kinderhaus?
A Kinderhaus is Kindergarten in a home-based environment. Our Waldorf and Lifeways inspired 'home away from home' environment offers security and familiarity for young learners.
My focus is on building a meaningful connection with each student and on balancing peer conviviality with individual responsibility.
Kinderhaus programming introduces children to key life-skills such as baking, gardening, cleaning, handwork, cooking and orienteering. We also entrench all our academic instruction in the world of story, nature, art and music.

Imagining & Learning in Nature
Juniper Glen students spend time playing outdoors every day in all seasons and weathers. Mindful awareness of the seasons is central to all of our learning. We creatively celebrate festivals throughout the year connecting with friends, family and community.
We are a Nature School offering three distinct units of study including Forest, Pond and Farm. Each week we visit the nearby forest or pond to learn about the rhythms of nature and to record our discoveries in our nature journals! Several days of the year, we visit a local farm where we learn about the cycles that govern the food we eat.
